About the New River Rats

River Rats was formed in 1984 to `promote an interest in the descent of rivers worldwide by canoe, kayak, raft or similar craft - to encourage the exchange of information between members and to provide a congenial atmosphere where this may occur'.

For the past few years the River Rats and monthly Lectures have faded into obscurity but are now being revived at the West Reservoir Centre situated at the end of the New River in Stoke Newington, London.

Lectures take place on the first Wednesday of every month. The doors and Bar open at 7:00pm and the guest speaker will start at 7:45pm. Admission costs just £5 so come along and find out what it is like to paddle those rivers that you have only dreamed about.

Click on the 'Next Talk' link to find out who's the next guest speaker or check out the 'programme' for future topics.

If you're an intrepid river explorer and would like to give a talk to fellow London paddlers, please contact Terry at the New River Rats on the address below.
